The script for the local director is done!  Actually, two are done.   He gave me a loose idea of the concept that he wanted to see.  While recognizing that we’re working with a limited budget (and that is if he decides to go with my script) I wrote out a short 7-8 minute short that was exactly what he was looking for story-wise.   And then, because I could, and because I had an idea of how to take the idea further, I ended up writing a second version of the script.  The second version is definitely written in my “style” (i.e. it reads a bit like a madcap comedy).  It is longer, running at about 20 minutes but I really think there is something to it.

Regardless, both versions were emailed to the director and now I just have to hurry up and wait.  I hate waiting.  I hate not knowing if the person reviewing my work likes it or not.

So right now I’m trapped between relief that I completed both scripts and the walking on hot coals jumpiness of waiting for a response.  And of course hopefully, there’ll be re-writes (meaning he decides to go with me as writer).

In related news, I just realized that the Nicholl’s are coming up and I need to prep a feature length script to submit.  *grins*  Nothing like completing one project and leaping off into another.
