Welcome to unleaded, fuel for writers. This is Renee with your daily 60 seconds of writerly inspiration and persperation.
It’s that time again. The new year has arrived all shiny and new and everyone around you is making resolutions to get fit or to get more organized…and while those are all well and good I’m here to remind you not to forget your writing. Find a resolution you can live with, like picking a length of time you are going to write every day, a word goal for the year, a project goal for each month, or just a general “Write More!” and stick with it. Just think, you’ve got a whole year to accomplish it…but to help you along your path be sure to share your resolutions with someone (or perhaps even the world at large) who will hold you accountable.
And in that spirit let me say my 2008 writing resolution is to finish the last 40thousand words of “In Harm’s Way” by Memorial Day weekend, let’s see if I make it.
If you have any resolutions you’d like to share, visit us on the web at www.dayalmohamed.com/unleaded until then, keep on writing.

Welcome to Unleaded Fuel for Writers, this is Renee Brown with your 60 seconds of writerly inspiration and perspiration.
I just wanted to tell you, you are not that hopeless or strange that someone else had not already come up with the angst you are currently struggling with. The world does not work that way. All that can be written has been written and all that can be angsted has been angsted…you and I are latecomers to the page and we are doomed (thank goodness) to repeat what others that have gone before us have already done. This means that there can be no thing out there, no problem or issue or character or plot device that has not already been wrestled with and in most cases slain.
So give yourself some breathing room today, take a minute to feel the authors of Christmas past nodding along with your struggles and know that even the Dream King himself has doubted his stories and talents before.
If you have any inspirations you’d like to share, please visit us on the web at www.dayalmohamed.com/unleaded in the mean time keep on writing.

Welcome to Unleaded, Fuel for Writers I’m Renee with your daily 60 seconds of writerly inspiration and perspiration.
I know that most of us dream of becoming a famous writer or at least a rich writer…but sometimes our best material comes not from what we think will be commercially viable but something that we have put our heart and soul into, something created not for money or fame but for love. Clement Clarke Moore wrote one of the most famous pieces of poetry in the world not for publication, not for money, not for fame, but for his children who were the love of his life. That poem was the Night Before Christmas.
See, it isn’t all about the money or limelight it’s about the heart, the soul behind the art that is the important thing. Today I challenge you to write not for the publishing giants or for the faceless multitudes milling in bookstores, but write for those you love…tell them a good story and if it is good enough perhaps the rest of the world will want to hear it too.
If you have any inspiration or perspiration you’d like to share, visit us on the web at www.dayalmohamed.com/unleaded until then, keep on writing.

Welcome to Unleaded, Fuel for Writers I’m Renee with your daily 60 seconds of writerly inspiration and perspiration.
W00t! W00t has been named Merriam-Webster’s 2007 word of the year. This cute little exclamation of joy was chosen by visitors to the their website and beat out other words such as facebook and conundrum to win this year’s honor.
W00t!, derived from l33t (leet or elite) speak came from the online gaming world where is supposedly stood for “We Owned the Other Team” and has been taking the world by storm ever since.
Merriam-Webster's president, John Morse, said "w00t" was an ideal choice because it blends whimsy and new technology and “shows a really interesting thing that's going on in language. It's a term that's arrived only because we're now communicating electronically with each other.”
